The average monthly gross (before taxes) wage in the national economy (excluding individual enterprises) in the second quarter of 2026 in the Capital region was EUR 2,879.7 and increased by 2.6% compared to the first quarter of 2026. In the Central and Western Lithuania region, the gross wage was EUR 2,425.7 and increased by 3.3% over the quarter.

The gross wage gap between these regions in the second quarter of 2026 was EUR 454 and remained almost unchanged over the quarter.
The average monthly net (after employee taxes) wage in the Capital region was EUR 1,742.2 and increased by 2.6% compared to the first quarter of 2026. In the Central and Western Lithuania region, it was EUR 1,492.2 and was 2.7% higher.
The average monthly gross wage increased the most over the quarter in Šiauliai (4.3%), Utena (3.9%), and Panevėžys counties (3.7%).
The highest gross wage – EUR 2,879.7 – was received by employees in Vilnius County. The lowest – EUR 2,140.8 – was earned by employees in Marijampolė County.

Gross wages increased in all municipalities in the second quarter of 2026
The average monthly gross wage in the second quarter of 2026, compared to the previous quarter, increased in all municipalities from 0.8% (Mažeikiai district municipality) to 8.2% (Visaginas municipality).
The highest gross wage – EUR 2,966.7 – was received by employees of Vilnius city municipality. The lowest – EUR 1,941 – was earned by employees of Zarasai district municipality.
Over the year (second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025), the average monthly gross wage grew in all municipalities from 4.6% (Neringa municipality) to 15.8% (Kelmė district municipality).
Wage changes were influenced by increased work volume, seasonal fluctuations, and other reasons.
