In an evening video address published on Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the war started by the aggressor state in Ukraine is beginning to „close the sky“ over the Russian Federation. According to him, due to the massive number of drones, Russian airspace is becoming increasingly dangerous for civil aviation.
„Today we want to warn every airline that uses Russian airspace, every insurer, everyone who still uses the main Russian airports: Russian skies are becoming absolutely dangerous. Ukraine does not pose a threat to civil aviation as such – not to any civilian aircraft. There will simply be so many drones in Russian skies that this must be taken into account,“ Zelensky said.
