Recently, several Western publications wrote that E. Musk allegedly does not oppose Ukraine using “Starlink” to direct its drones at targets in Russia. However, according to one source, the SpaceX CEO does not believe that allowing the system to be used for operations on Russian territory would help end the war.

“E. Musk wants a settlement in this war, not its escalation,” the source said.
According to him, E. Musk’s negotiations with former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov were “extremely unsuccessful.” After this conversation, the SpaceX CEO allegedly finally decided not to grant Ukraine permission to use Starlink for such operations.
The publication recalls that earlier there was a misunderstanding between the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, E. Musk, and US President Donald Trump. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the ministry informed him that E. Musk had already agreed to the use of Starlink for operations in Russia and only the US president’s consent was left to be obtained.
Later, V. Zelensky learned that E. Musk had not given such permission. The Ukrainian president emphasized that his team, together with representatives of the Trump administration, continues negotiations with the businessman and hopes to achieve a breakthrough.
One Ukrainian official told The Kyiv Independent that the US administration indicated that the decision on such Starlink use must be made by the company SpaceX itself. However, E. Musk’s representatives, in turn, claimed that this issue should be resolved by the Trump administration.
