Last summer, Russia intensified its strikes on the Odesa region, including border checkpoints at the Ukrainian state border.

On the night of August 25, the international border checkpoint Vynohradivka, located at the border with Moldova, was attacked. Infrastructure was damaged – travel of citizens and vehicles through this checkpoint had to be suspended.

A few days earlier, Russian forces launched Shahed drones at the Bolhrad and Izmail districts, hitting the infrastructure of the Tabaki border checkpoint with Moldova. It was reported that fires broke out after the strike, and the border checkpoint infrastructure was damaged.
