“It is my childhood dream,” J. Tetart said back in August about the possibility of playing in the WNBA.
Recently, reports have appeared on social media and in some media outlets that the Frenchwoman has already submitted an application to participate in the 2027 WNBA draft.
However, the basketball player herself has not yet publicly confirmed such a step.
Even official registration for the draft would not necessarily mean that J. Tetart will be selected or get a spot on one of the WNBA teams. Currently, she has neither a contract with a league team nor a guaranteed opportunity to join its roster.
A possible attempt by the Frenchwoman to enter the WNBA would also raise questions about the league’s rules regulating the participation of transgender athletes. If J. Tetart’s candidacy became real, the WNBA might have to clarify its position on this issue.
The discussions were further fueled by former NBA player Enes Kanter, who stated that he himself intended to register for the WNBA draft.
Later, reports appeared that E. Kanter and former NBA player Royce White were allegedly deemed ineligible to participate, but the Turk called this information false.
E. Kanter also stated he would abandon his intentions if the WNBA rules clearly defined that only biological women can play in the league.
While this discussion expands, the most important question regarding J. Tetart remains unanswered – the basketball player herself has not yet officially confirmed that she has indeed submitted an application to participate in the 2027 WNBA draft.
