The first stores are expected to open their doors this September, and by the end of the year, a network of 20 low-price stores is planned across Lithuania, with 40 next year. Some of them will be established this year in the premises of the defunct “Mere” network.

“Marytės retail” manager Povilas Ugianskis has so far mostly invested in household goods and chemical production, previously managed a gas station network, and developed various real estate projects in different countries. In a press release, he stated that the decision to enter this market was dictated by personal experience and the market situation – a free niche in the low-price segment.

P. Ugianskis claimed that his company is one of the suppliers whose goods got stuck in the former stores of the “Mere” retail network.

However, D. Dundulis, who has worked in the retail sector for many years, has not heard of P. Ugianskis’s name.
