Another Girios street – just a kilometer away. Romainiai are quite confusing – part of it is in Kaunas, the other part in Kaunas district. Who would have thought that streets with the same name could be so close to each other.

“The kindergarten address was supposed to be different – on Vijūkų street, but in the end, we ended up on Girios street. About 200 meters away – Kaunas district. You probably went there,” – explained Ingrida Ramanauskaitė-Markevičienė, the director of the newly opened “Vėjukai” in Romainiai, when we finally found each other.

The final preparations are underway here – floors are being cleaned, grass is being cut, screws are being tightened, a gift photo wall is being arranged: preparations are being made for the official opening on September 1st.

Until then, I. Ramanauskaitė-Markevičienė was the director of a kindergarten operating in Šančiai, dedicating 19 years to child education.

“Everywhere has its own charm. Of course, here – the experience is incomparable, because everything is new. It’s rare to start everything from scratch. Here – it’s complete creativity, you can imagine, dream, and realize your dreams.

I feel a great responsibility, but I am also very happy that fate was so kind to me that I can start creating everything from scratch in such a beautiful place. I feel appreciated and very grateful. It’s a gift of fate,” – admitted the interlocutor.
