“Currently, 87% of customers who experienced power outages due to the storm already have electricity. Today, more than 1,000 electricians and engineers are still working across Lithuania to restore power to 34 thousand of our customers,” Rasa Juodkienė told BNS.

According to her, the largest forces are directed to critical points, such as the Anykščiai and Utena regions.
“Also, in Kazlų Rūda, Marijampolė, and the district, more people are working than yesterday. And everyone will work until late at night,” said the ESO representative.
ESO previously planned that the majority of the remaining electricity supply restoration work would be completed over the weekend, and only isolated disruptions should remain on Sunday.
“We plan that isolated disruptions or very complicated cases will remain, where more time is needed to apply a temporary technical solution because the network is completely destroyed,” explained R. Juodkienė.

As BNS wrote, one person died during the storm that raged over the weekend, four others were injured, and electricity supply was disrupted for more than 268 thousand users.
ESO will compensate residents for losses if the electricity supply restoration takes longer than 72 hours, and will also additionally compensate direct storm damages to both business and private customers.
Due to the storm and significant losses to farmers, the government declared a state-level emergency on Wednesday.
