The greatest attention is currently being paid to vital services. According to VŠĮ “Velžio komunalinis ūkis”, due to the interrupted electricity supply, energy is still not being supplied to 9 out of 40 district water supply facilities.
“Solutions, additional equipment, and assistance are being sought continuously – we do not leave a single problem to fate. Forces will work without breaks until water and electricity supply is restored in every home,” says Edmundas Toliušis, director of the Panevėžys district municipality administration.
Generators used for water supply in the district
Mobile electric generators have been deployed since Sunday to manage the emergency situation – today water supply was successfully restored with them in Barklainiai, Burveliai, Linkaučiai, Nevėžis, Rabikiai, and Vadokliai-Mikėnai. Residents of Pragarėlė, Preidžiai, and Jasviloniai still remain without water since Saturday.
According to updated data from AB “Energijos skirstymo operatorius” (ESO), there are 217 electricity supply disruptions recorded in Panevėžys district, and 2,405 users are without electricity. Repair crews are currently working in the Karsakiškis, Smilgiai, and Vadokliai elderships.

Meanwhile, firefighters of the Fire and Rescue Service have already removed hundreds of fallen trees in the district. Special attention is given to places where broken trees or hanging branches pose a danger to downed power lines and roads.
Comprehensive assistance to residents in the elderships
The elders and staff of the Panevėžys district municipality elderships, together with volunteers, are clearing roads as much as possible, maintaining cemeteries and public spaces. If necessary, water supply to residents is organized, and opportunities are provided to charge phones and other essential devices in the eldership premises.
Due to the damage caused by the storm and the government declaring a state-level emergency, the Panevėžys district municipality has started registering losses. All information about damage to agriculture is being collected until September 10. Affected agricultural companies and farmers are invited to contact their elderships and provide data about the losses incurred.
