Fuel prices: how much gasoline and diesel became cheaper on Thursday

In Lithuania on Thursday morning, compared to Wednesday, the average prices of gasoline and diesel decreased by 0.48% and 0.64% respectively, while the average price of LPG increased by 0.16%.

Fuel prices at gas stations in our country usually increase on Tuesdays, and are then consistently reduced until the weekend. Retail prices are also influenced by increased wholesale fuel prices and more expensive oil.

Information about fuel prices was provided to the Lithuanian Energy Agency (LEA) on August 27 by 69 fuel trading companies operating 736 gas stations.

Companies selling fuel in Lithuania submit information about the prices of fuels sold at their gas stations to LEA every working day by 10 a.m. The submitted prices are published on the website ena.lt. Prices at gas stations are changed several times a day.

Data on fuel prices received from gas stations by 10 a.m. on August 27 show that the lowest diesel price was at a “Neste” network gas station in Alytus – 1.954 Eur/l.

The highest diesel price was at twenty-five “Viada” network gas stations and eleven “Circle K” network gas stations – 2.199 Eur/l.

Diesel prices at gas stations on Thursday morning ranged from 1.954 Eur/l to 2.199 Eur/l, with the average diesel price reaching 2.064 Eur/l, or 0.64% less than on Wednesday (August 26), when it was 2.077 Eur/l.

The lowest gasoline price on Thursday morning was at two “Emsi” network gas stations in Klaipėda – 1.690 Eur/l.

The highest gasoline price was at a “Circle K” network gas station in Varėna – 1.959 Eur/l.

Gasoline prices at gas stations on Thursday morning ranged from 1.690 Eur/l to 1.959 Eur/l, with the average gasoline price being 1.788 Eur/l, or 0.48% less than on Wednesday (August 26), when it was 1.796 Eur/l.

The lowest LPG price on Thursday morning was at a “Skulas” network gas station in Kaunas and a “Velseka” network gas station in Kupiškis – 0.669 Eur/l.

The highest LPG price was at the UAB “Tumasa” gas station in Mažeikiai district municipality (Židikiai) – 0.940 Eur/l.

LPG prices at gas stations on Thursday morning ranged from 0.669 Eur/l to 0.940 Eur/l, with the average LPG price reaching 0.766 Eur/l, or 0.16% more than on Wednesday (August 26), when it was 0.764 Eur/l.

The wholesale gasoline price in Lithuania on August 26 was 1.66 Eur/l, and the wholesale diesel price was 1.91 Eur/l (on August 25, the wholesale gasoline price was 1.65 Eur/l, and the wholesale diesel price was 1.91 Eur/l).

The Brent oil price on the market on August 26 was 87.86 USD/bbl (on August 25 – 88.58 USD/bbl).
