Writer, playwright, and essayist P. Nádas, awarded the Kossuth and Attila József prizes, was one of the most prominent figures of contemporary Hungarian and European prose.

Born in Budapest in 1942, the author began his career as a photojournalist and journalist, later gaining international recognition with novels, short stories, and essays.
His works have been translated into many languages. P. Nádas’s work is characterized by an extremely precise exploration of personal memory, history, the body, and human relationships.
His most important works are the novels “The End of a Family Story” (Egy családregény vége), “Book of Memories” (Emlékiratok könyve), the monumental novel “Parallel Stories” (Párhuzamos történetek), as well as “Glowing Parts” (Világló részletek, Volumes I and II), which can be read both as memoirs and as a historical overview of memory and the past.
P. Nádas was recognized not only in Hungary but especially in Germany and the international literary world – he was considered one of the most important writers of his generation.
