What the order can be awarded for
The Order of Freedom is the highest state award of Ukraine, given for outstanding merits in strengthening the sovereignty and independence of the state.
It is noted that this award can be given to Ukrainian citizens, foreigners, stateless persons – for life or posthumously.
At the beginning of August, the world media reported that E. Musk did not give consent after V. Zelensky requested permission to use Starlink technology for strikes on Russian territory.
As reported, during the last meeting with US President Donald Trump, V. Zelensky asked him to help obtain the permission of the head of SpaceX to use Starlink for strikes against Russian missile batteries attacking Ukrainian cities.
Similar requests were allegedly unofficially made by former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, but it is noted that billionaire E. Musk so far refuses to yield. He has repeatedly emphasized the risk of possible escalation and expressed the opinion that it is time for the countries to make peace.
Nevertheless, it is reported that changes have been noticed in Ukraine’s strikes on Russian border regions. Experts assessed that a fast internet connection is necessary to carry them out. So far, neither Ukraine nor E. Musk has officially commented on such information.
