Gas stations – a new price jump: drivers notice it every week

Fuel prices at gas stations in our country usually increase on Tuesdays, while on other days they are gradually reduced until the weekend. Retail prices are also influenced by increased wholesale fuel prices and more expensive oil. Information about fuel prices was provided to the Lithuanian Energy Agency (LEA) on August 25 by 70 fuel trading companies operating 744 gas stations.

Companies selling fuel in Lithuania provide LEA with information about the prices of fuels sold at their gas stations every working day by 10 a.m. The submitted prices are published on the website ena.lt. Prices at gas stations are changed several times a day.

Data on fuel prices received from gas stations by 10 a.m. on August 25 show that the lowest diesel price was at the “Tripletas” network gas station in Mažeikiai – 1.980 Eur/l.

The highest diesel price was at one hundred and sixteen “Viada” network gas stations, twenty-one “Circle K” network gas stations, three “Boost Petrol” network gas stations, the “Kriketas” network gas station in Trakai, and the “Degta” network gas station in Elektrėnai district municipality – 2.199 Eur/l.

Diesel prices at gas stations on Tuesday morning ranged from 1.980 Eur/l to 2.199 Eur/l, with the average diesel price reaching 2.114 Eur/l, or 3.32% more than on Monday (August 24), when it was 2.046 Eur/l.

The lowest gasoline price on Tuesday morning was at two “Emsi” network gas stations in Klaipėda – 1.690 Eur/l.

The highest gasoline price was at one hundred and nineteen “Viada” network gas stations, twenty-nine “Circle K” network gas stations, three “Boost Petrol” network gas stations, the “Baltic Petroleum” network gas station in Varėna district municipality, the “Emsi” network gas station in Vilnius district municipality, the “Kriketas” network gas station in Trakai, the “Degta” network gas station in Elektrėnai district municipality, and the “Šventosios investicijos” network gas station in Šventoji – 1.899 Eur/l.

Gasoline prices at gas stations on Tuesday morning ranged from 1.690 Eur/l to 1.899 Eur/l, with the average gasoline price being 1.829 Eur/l, or 3.76% more than on Monday (August 24), when it was 1.762 Eur/l.

The lowest LPG price on Tuesday morning was at four “Madalva” network gas stations – 0.670 Eur/l.

The highest LPG price was at the UAB “Tumasa” gas station in Mažeikiai district municipality (Židikiai) – 0.940 Eur/l.

LPG prices at gas stations on Tuesday morning ranged from 0.670 Eur/l to 0.940 Eur/l, with the average LPG price being 0.766 Eur/l, or 0.32% less than on Monday (August 24), when it was 0.769 Eur/l.

The wholesale gasoline price in Lithuania on August 24 was 1.67 Eur/l, and the wholesale diesel price was 1.97 Eur/l (on August 21, the wholesale gasoline price was 1.66 Eur/l, and the wholesale diesel price was 1.97 Eur/l).

The Brent oil price on the market on August 24 was 92.17 USD/bbl (on August 21 – 94.39 USD/bbl).
