I. Sorokaitė joins the team, which enters the new season as the Lithuanian and Baltic leagues champion.
Last season, Kaunas-VDU won the Baltic Women’s Volleyball League for the fourth time in the club’s history and regained the Lithuanian championship title. The new season’s roster includes as many as six players who have represented the Lithuanian national team.

I. Sorokaitė is the most famous indoor volleyball player in the country.
Having left Kaunas for Italy at the age of 14, she became a true star in one of the strongest volleyball countries over two decades.

Representing Italian volleyball clubs, the Lithuanian won the World Volleyball Club Championship, the CEV Cup (the second most prestigious volleyball tournament in Europe), and two Italian cups.

When there was no volleyball national team in Lithuania, I. Sorokaitė accepted Italian citizenship and represented this country’s national team at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
A few years ago, she founded a volleyball academy in Kaunas, inviting Italian volleyball specialists to teach there.
