It all started with a photo of teacher Veronika posted in a Facebook group. In it, the woman is captured during vacation wearing a swimsuit.

The photo was accompanied by a rather provocative question from the author, aimed at parents: “Would you send your child to a teacher who posts pictures of herself in a swimsuit?” Moreover, the author of the post asked whether it is important for parents looking for a tutor or teacher that they are not “influencer style,” casting doubt on whether such content on social networks is appropriate for the teaching profession.
Seeing this attempt to shame her, Veronika herself decided not to stay silent. She shared an ironic and candid response on her Instagram account.
“Well, I admit it. Yes. I am a teacher. Yes. I have a swimsuit. Yes. I wear it. And scandalously, sometimes I even take photos,” the teacher joked.
But soon the woman shifted to a much more serious tone and asked a fundamental question: since when is a teacher’s competence measured by their Instagram photos?
Veronika emphasized that her profession does not prevent her from simply being a free woman. “I can be a great teacher and at the same time be a woman who travels, dresses as she likes, takes photos, laughs, creates a business, and lives HER OWN life,” she wrote.

The teacher did not shy away from openness and boldly stated that she feels beautiful and sexy, and this in no way diminishes her ability to work with children. According to her, wearing a swimsuit does not take away education or years of experience.

“A teacher is not a person who puts on a turtleneck sweater on September 1st and stops existing outside the school doors. We are people too. We have bodies. We have lives. And horror, sometimes we even go on vacation,” the woman broke down the entrenched attitude, adding that, like many Lithuanian teachers, she is a specialist who loves her job and knows it well.
Although the original Facebook post might have seemed like an attack, Veronika was glad that society is much more conscious. She praised the rational-thinking internet users who sided with her in the comments, showing that they can distinguish professional competence from a person’s personal leisure time.
And for those who had no doubts about her professionalism after this discussion, Veronika ended the story with a clever move: at the end of the post, the teacher reminded that registration for her lessons is already open and invited parents to register their children.
