Keitė Arai and Tomas Ališauskas revealed the main intrigue of the show "Be tabu" returning to TV air

„BE TABU“ – one of the first informational shows in Lithuania, which invited society to look at its flaws, the most important events, and figures through bold and ironic glasses. And although times change, some things remain the same – our curiosity about how our elected officials live and work.

Therefore, the project returns to TV3 once again. But this time – sharper, more surprising, and more relevant than ever before. The show will be led by a duo already well known to today’s viewers and masters of the nuances of informational shows in Lithuania – Keitė Arai and Tomas Ališauskas.

“An exciting stage awaits. When I think that we are bringing back a long-loved show to TV3’s airwaves, an indescribable excitement takes over. It is both a serious challenge and, in a way, a responsibility,” says Tomas.

According to him, this is a show that once captured not only the sincerest viewer sympathies but also sparked the biggest discussions. As “Be Tabu” returns to TV after 20 years, Tomas openly hopes for the same result.

“Be Tabu” is a show that is not afraid to look truth in the eye – to expose injustice, to look sharply but humorously at politics, social issues, and the most colorful figures. We try to tell serious things in a way that the truth not only reaches the viewer but also makes them smile,” Keitė agrees with her colleague.

Humor is no less important in the show. According to Tomas, people in Lithuania tend not to joke about every misfortune or unpleasant event. However, he says, that is often exactly what is missing: “After all, looking through the prism of humor, you can find unexpected angles and sometimes even solutions to unpleasant situations.”

Moreover, the show’s team always monitors the reactions that each report provokes in social media.

“It is always interesting to read people’s discussions and understand what emotions our reports have triggered. Then we can evaluate and understand what moves certain communities and what information is relevant to people,” says Keitė.

“They say you can’t choose your family or neighbors. Tomas and I are no exception, but our case is definitely a successful one. We were a bit less lucky with neighbors (laughs). But seriously, I am truly glad to have a colleague like Tomas. I am not always an easy partner, so Tomas’s tolerance and patience are one of the main ingredients of our success. He is a structured and reliable person, with whom it is not only fun but also easy to work,” Keitė spares no kind words for her colleague.

She says she views the new stage of the show as a great opportunity to improve and grow: “I am honored to be not only part of this show but also part of the ‘BE TABU’ team, with which I grew up on television.”

And what show topics are the most interesting to both hosts? They both unanimously agree – of course, those related to politics! After all, there are truly no limits to creativity there…

“Almost every day, things happen in the world that once seemed impossible and often even absurd. Reports about such incredible events in our show surprise not only viewers or me but also media veterans with much more experience,” says Tomas.

The show “BE TABU” – from August 31, Mondays-Thursdays, 7:30 PM on TV3.
