“Our peoples are connected by eternal traditions, memories of common victories and difficult trials,” A. Lukashenko proclaimed.
He also expressed confidence that despite “geopolitical upheavals,” future generations of Belarusians and Ukrainians “will preserve eternal friendly and kinship ties,” and the capitals will restore “mutually beneficial cooperation based on trust, respect, and equality.”
“Hospitable Belarus is always open to every Ukrainian arriving with good intentions,” A. Lukashenko stated and wished Ukrainian citizens “health and prosperity, and peace and happiness to their country.”

This is not the first time A. Lukashenko has congratulated Ukraine on Independence Day after Russia launched a large-scale invasion, for which Belarus itself provided a foothold.
In 2024, he stated that he has always looked at Ukraine “with special respect and warmth.” In the same year, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which also supports Russian aggression, congratulated Ukraine on Independence Day.
