„Litgrid“: decreased solar and wind power generation increased its price by 84%

From August 17 to 23, the average price in the Lithuanian price zone of the Nord Pool exchange increased by 84% to 124 euros per megawatt hour (MWh). In Latvia, the price was the same, in Estonia – 93 euros, Litgrid reported on Monday.

Deividas Šikšnys, head of the Market Development Department at Litgrid, says that due to low wind and solar power generation, prices rose across Europe, and on Tuesday Lithuania and Latvia had some of the highest prices on the continent.
