V. Zelensky said he had agreed on this deal with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, but added that Ukraine still needs more missile interceptors to defend against Russian ballistic missile attacks.
“As part of the winter package, I wanted to find 300 missiles for the ‘Patriot’ systems. Our air force’s request is 360. But when annual production is 600 units, getting 360 is not easy,” Zelensky told journalists during the Ukrainian Flag Day commemoration.

He said Kyiv is also seeking access to US stocks, adding: “We would very much like to believe that we can find a way to acquire a small portion of American stocks – say, 5 or 10 percent. We are ready to pay for these supplies.”
On Saturday, French President Emmanuel Macron in turn announced that Paris will deliver new intercept missiles to Ukraine.
