„I am very happy that we can present Lithuanian cinema at Times Square. This square has been filmed many times in my beloved movies and series, so it is truly a great honor for me to be here – the place where Taxi Driver, Birdman, and Midnight Cowboy were filmed,” shares director A. Blaževičius, who is visiting New York and has not only a premiere in the USA but also many planned interviews.

The advertising campaign in the USA is curated by the Lithuanian creative agency autoriai and the film’s producers M FILMS: “Appearing at Times Square, the same place where Madonna, Charlie XCX launch new albums, and Hollywood cinema giants present themselves, means not a fancy advertising position for me as a creative, but that our creativity and competencies look completely natural in a global context and we have long surpassed local regional boundaries,” says Giedrė Ona Šileikytė, founder and creative director of autoriai.

A love drama about divorce at the wrong time
The emotional love drama tells the story of Marija – an ambitious head of a large advertising agency department – and Vytas – a film director searching for himself – who decide to divorce. It would seem that nothing is missing in their marriage. The couple lives in a perfectly furnished home and raises a daughter. A family like any other. But Marija feels unhappy. When the woman finally dares to admit that she wants a divorce, she chooses the worst possible time for an open conversation. Does divorce always mean failure? Or perhaps, on the contrary, everything is for the better?
The film stars the country’s brightest actors of today: Marius Repšys (The Saint, The Chinese Sea, The Train Robbery by Saulius and Paulius), Žygimantė Elena Jakštaitė (The Runner, Renovation), and the young actress Amelija Adomaitytė, who has won the audience’s sympathy, as well as Indrė Patkauskaitė (Survive the Summer, The Poet, Pilgrims), Larisa Kalpokaitė (Happy Stars, Vacationers, Uninvited Love), Rimantas Bagdzevičius (Uninvited Love).
