The Police Department reported that on August 22 at about 2:30 PM in Vilnius, Cathedral Square, a group of about 30-40 people demonstrated disrespect to the environment with insolent behavior and vandalistic actions, i.e., they attacked participants of the Lithuanian nationalists’ community protest against mass migration and disturbed public peace and order.

A man (born 2002) and a man (born 1992) were detained in custody. A pre-trial investigation was launched for violation of public order.
Other marches also took place
On the same day, a march against hate and racism took place in Vilnius. Protest participants marched from Europe Square towards Cathedral Square.

According to the organizers, the protest aimed to draw attention to racism, dehumanization of migrants, and their exploitation.
The march was organized by “Solidarumo Grandis,” “Vilne Bund,” “Demonstruokimės,” the Vilnius anarchist union, and the drum collective “RoR.”
