From 7 to 18:30, the center received 11,460 calls, most of which were reports related to the consequences of the storm. It is noted that a rapid increase in traffic was recorded after noon.

In the morning, most calls were due to incidents in Southern Lithuania, later in the central part of the country, and in the afternoon most reports came from Western Lithuania.
“Today, the BPC is operating under the highest load conditions this year. (…) We received more than 11 thousand calls, although we usually get about 5 thousand throughout the day,” said BPC Deputy Chief Jelena Montvilienė in a statement.
According to her, the large number of reports about the storm’s consequences was also contributed to by a very high flow of calls regarding electricity supply disruptions.
When the “Energy Distribution Operator” (ESO) encountered technical system operation disturbances, some residents, unable to register electricity supply disruptions through usual channels, contact the number 112 about them.
“Therefore, our most important request to residents at this time is to leave the number 112 for urgent assistance. This helps us to answer calls from those who need help immediately as quickly as possible,” assures J. Montvilienė.
As BNS reported, a tree that fell in the Anykščiai district on Saturday evening fatally injured a man.
According to ESO data, the number of residents facing electricity supply problems reaches 155 thousand.

Due to electricity supply disruptions caused by poor weather conditions, delays of some trains are also possible.
As reported by the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, based on preliminary data, the strongest wind gusts were recorded at Ventė Cape and Nida by the sea.
Here, a hurricane-strength wind gust reaching up to 33 meters per second was recorded.
Strong winds were also recorded in the Klaipėda port, Šilutė, Kaunas, and Kybartai, Lazdijai, Šventoji.
In turn, a torrential rain was recorded at the Šilutė meteorological station. According to the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, since morning, 83% of the August monthly precipitation norm has fallen there.
The torrential rain threshold was also reached in Šiauliai.
Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service meteorologist Janas Vaitkevičius told LRT that Saturday’s storm is the strongest recorded storm this summer.
It is forecasted that the wind in Southern Lithuania will start to calm down in the evening, and in Northern Lithuania – during the coming night.
