About the extraordinary situation, the famous man told on social networks. He assured the portal Žmonės.lt that he was sailing from Klaipėda to Nida for a film presentation planned for Sunday, when due to difficult weather conditions the ship ran aground on a shoal.

“I won’t forget it for a long time”
He shares having seen a very unusual sight – the passengers themselves decided to push the ship off the shoal.
“Lithuanians are brave people! Today, sailing from Klaipėda to Nida on the ship ‘Benas’ with my husband, we got stuck on a shoal near Pervalka. We waited for favorable wind for several hours, the captain and his team sought help, took care of the passengers, checked the shoal. Three men with professional gear and bicycles went ashore.
Some time passed – about a dozen people got into the water and pushed the ship. That’s what I wanted to share, because I won’t forget this experience for a long time. Thanks to everyone for overcoming the wind together. That feeling when brave people join forces for a common goal is special. Yes, maybe not everything is perfect in Lithuania, but here my summer is more beautiful than in Madeira.

The man told Žmonės.lt that the passengers reacted quite calmly.
“Everyone reacted understandingly, and when we managed to push the ship and sail again, of course, we applauded each other. It’s normal to experience various emotions in such a situation, but for me the most important thing was to share pride and joy that together we managed to push the ship,” he commented.
The man said that even after receiving a storm warning, he trusted the ship’s captains.
“The trip was planned and tickets were purchased well in advance because tomorrow I have to present my film in Nida. So we simply trusted that if the ship is sailing, everything is fine,” the director told Žmonės.lt.
