Latvian border guards turned back 109 migrants on Thursday, while no attempts to illegally enter the country were recorded at the Polish border on Wednesday.
This year, more than 1.2 thousand illegal migrants have been denied entry into Lithuania in total. Last year, there were more than 1.6 thousand attempts to enter the country illegally from Belarus in unauthorized places, and the year before that, the number was 1002.
Since the beginning of the migration crisis caused by Belarus, Lithuanian border guards have prevented more than 25.8 thousand foreigners from illegally entering the country.

The influx of migrants into the eastern EU members from Belarus began in 2021, with the West accusing the Minsk regime of organizing it.
