“The Trakai district municipality continues the implementation project of the new monument to Vytautas the Great. In my opinion, this is an important project not only for Trakai but for all of Lithuania. Vytautas the Great is inseparable from the history of Trakai, and his role in strengthening the Lithuanian statehood and striving for kingdom status is exceptional,” said the municipality mayor Andrius Šatevičius to BNS.

According to him, both the location and the artistic solution of the monument are already clear – the monument will be erected on the Karaim Island, near Trakai Castle.
