S. Maslobojevas revealed on his Instagram account that this fight will mark the end of his current contract with UTMA. After the fight, both parties plan to start negotiations for further cooperation.
“It’s time to tidy up my yard, put the dots on the ‘i’. With this fight in September, my current contract with UTMA ends, and then we will sit down at the negotiating table.
I think if the organization values all my work, my contribution to our sport, and presents a good offer, I will gladly accept it and sign a new contract.
So first we do what needs to be done, and then what we want,” said S. Maslobojevas.
The former GLORY champion joined the UTMA organization in the summer of 2024.
The last time S. Maslobojevas appeared in the UTMA ring was in April, when he won against Ignas Pauliukevičius by judges’ decision. It was right after this fight that the long-anticipated showdown with D. Dirksčius was officially announced.
D. Dirksčius knocked out Alexandru Velenciuc in less than a minute that same evening. The rivalry between S. Maslobojevas and D. Dirksčius has been developing for several years – both fighters have exchanged words multiple times on social media, press conferences, and face-to-face meetings.
