The conflict reportedly started over a minor disagreement but quickly became uncontrollable.

The unrest later moved from the beach to the nearby promenade. This caused panic, and dozens of people started running. Officers who arrived at the scene urgently tried to separate the participants and prevent the situation from escalating further.

According to „NeedToKnow“, five people were detained and taken to the police station for identification.
Among them were a man and a woman from Mondragone, as well as a man, a woman, and a minor from the nearby Naples province. Paramedics were also called to the scene to care for those injured in the fight.
Later, five individuals were identified and handed over to law enforcement on suspicion of participating in the fight, insulting a state official, and resisting an officer.
The chaos occurred despite the order by Mondragone’s mayor Francesco Lavanga to ban bonfires and camping on the beach that evening.
Italian parliament member Francesco Borrelli demanded stricter control in the region after the incident.
He stated: “Stricter checks and a wider presence of security forces are needed on the Domitian coast: orders and bans cannot remain only on paper.
Anyone who turns beaches and public places into scenes of violence must be identified and strictly held accountable.”
