The competition will start at 10 o’clock, and the organizers invite everyone to come to the event – not only the athletes’ relatives and friends but all those who support water sports and want to get to know the rapidly popularizing “rapid surf” branch live. “Rapid surf” is surfing on a standing wave.

Spectators have the opportunity to watch this from very close, just a few steps away from the participants, which makes the competition a dynamic and engaging event.

As in previous stages, participants will compete in six categories: boys, girls, amateur women, amateur men, and women and men. This format allows not only professionals and advanced surfers but everyone who wants to challenge themselves to appear on the wave.
From Friday, Marius Gerlach – one of the best European surfers – arrives at citywave from Germany. Community members will have the opportunity to train with him all weekend, and on Saturday Marius will not only judge and evaluate the athletes but also put on an impressive performance himself.
“It is very important for us to create a sense of community – we want everyone who comes to us to feel what we live by. New people, shared interests, sports – this is what the citywave community is about. Come to meet, support the athletes, and have a great time. We will have music, delicious pizzas, and many beautiful, friendly people,” says the “citywave Vilnius” team.

According to the organizers, anyone can enjoy the competition, even without deeper knowledge of surfing. The principle of the competition is easy to understand – the athletes’ goal is to use their allotted time on the wave as effectively as possible and demonstrate their skills. Judges evaluate their performances based on wave control, maneuvers performed, the athlete’s style, and the overall quality of the performance.
Children will start at 10h, and from 12:30 we will see performances by amateur and professional athletes.
The third stage of the “Citywave Vilnius Rapid Surf Series” will take place at the “Enefit” arena, Šv. Stepono g. 41, Vilnius.
