At the same time, the singer admitted that good relations between Russia and Ukraine are impossible today. Nevertheless, she expressed support for Ukrainians because of the war started by Russia and emotionally addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin.

„While the Japanese are thinking about how to extend life, Russia is thinking about how to kill these Ukrainians, Europe, basically everyone in the world… Where does such a desire come from?.. I am addressing Putin, the President of Russia: rest, there is no need to fight now, leave, rest! Spend five years peacefully at a dacha – and you will live to 120 years!“ – said the singer.

Moreover, L.Vaikulė stated that she would „take up a rifle“ if Russia invaded one of the Baltic countries.

She also categorically answered the question of whether she would agree to perform in Russia after the war and spoke harshly about the Russian language.

„If Russian bombs started falling on Latvia, I wouldn’t say a single word in Russian or would speak only in swear words. I really know that,“ the performer added.
