“Dior” also announced the death of M. Favier on Tuesday, August 18. On their social network “Instagram” account, the fashion house expressed deep sorrow over the loss and emphasized that during her tenure as public relations director, the woman significantly contributed to building the reputation of “Christian Dior Couture.”
“She was an exceptional woman whose communication skills, talent, and dedication were exemplary,” the “Dior” statement said.
Delphine Arnault, head and CEO of the fashion house “Christian Dior Couture,” also bid farewell to M. Favier.
“Mathilde passionately loved life. With Mathilde’s loss, ‘Dior’ loses an extraordinary professional, and I lose a loyal friend. Her optimism and courage were inspiring. We will miss her smile and talent very much. Today I feel immense sadness. My thoughts are with her children, mother, sisters, family, many friends, and the team she loved so much,” said D. Arnault.
The loss of M. Favier was also mourned by Bernard Arnault, head of LVMH, the parent company of “Dior.”
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the tragic and unexpected death of Mathilde Favier. For many years, she dedicated her passion, energy, and talent to the fashion house ‘Dior.’ I express my sincerest condolences to her family and loved ones,” he said.
“Dior” creative director Jonathan Anderson also sensitively remembered his colleague.
“My heart breaks over the death of Mathilde Favier. We all owe her a great deal for her work and dedication. She radiated so much warmth and energy, was the most positive and inspiring person I have ever met. Mathilde embodied elegance and in many ways was the very spirit of the fashion house ‘Couture’,” said J. Anderson.

On his personal “Instagram” account, J. Anderson also shared a black-and-white photo of M. Favier.
“We lost the happiest, kindest, and most generous person. You will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with your entire family. With love, Jonathan,” he wrote.
M. Favier joined the “Dior” team in 2011. Before that, she worked at the fashion house “Prada.” While at “Dior,” she closely collaborated with famous fashion house ambassadors and clients, including Natalie Portman, Rihanna, and Jennifer Lawrence.
In 2024, M. Favier published a luxury book about Parisian lifestyle titled “Living Beautifully in Paris.”
She was the mother of two children – daughter Héloïse and son Carlo. She raised the children with her former husband, billionaire financier Robert Agostinelli.
On August 18, son Carlo also said goodbye to his mother on the social network “Instagram.” He shared several photos of the two of them together and wrote sensitively: “My heart hurts, and my mind is foggy. None of this makes sense, and I find it hard to understand how it will ever make sense.”
