On the early morning of August 28, the full Moon will enter the Earth’s shadow – a partial lunar eclipse will occur. An almost total eclipse will be visible in a large part of North and South America, as well as in some parts of Europe and Africa.

Residents of Lithuania will also be able to see the partial lunar eclipse. However, according to Dr. Vidas Dobrovolskas, a physicist and astrophysicist at Vilnius University Faculty of Physics, the viewing conditions in Lithuania this time will not be very favorable – during the eclipse, the Moon will already be setting and will be very low above the horizon.
