As 15min reported from Kaunas County Police, on August 15 around 10 p.m. on Šiaurės Avenue in Kaunas, on a trolleybus, a man of unknown identity showed disrespect to those around him and assaulted a woman born in 1995.

The victim was handed over to medical personnel.
A racially charged attack?
On Monday, the suspect was still being identified. A pre-trial investigation was launched for public order violation.
The penalties may include community service, a fine, restriction of liberty, arrest, or imprisonment for up to two years.
According to the portal kauno.diena.lt, paramedics found the injured girl lying at one of the public transport stops on Šiaurės Avenue – with a bloody face and crying, and the attack may have had a racist undertone due to the victim’s clothing.
According to the portal, the help was called not by the trolleybus driver but by another passenger and later by a passerby who saw the victim getting off at the stop.

An Egyptian citizen was injured
As 15min stated about the incident, Milda Rimkė, senior specialist of the Communications Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office, said that on August 15 this year around 10 p.m. in Kaunas, on a moving trolleybus, a conflict arose during which an Egyptian citizen was injured.
According to preliminary data, the victim was struck once.
“The investigation is ongoing, all circumstances of the incident are being clarified. Currently, there is no data to suggest that the conflict arose because of the victim’s nationality,” the prosecutor’s representative assured.
According to her, the identity of the person possibly related to the incident is currently being established.
