In this four-part book, the author delves into what collective intelligence is, how to understand it, how we might move towards greater collective wisdom, and what good it would bring. “It now seems inevitable that our lives will be more closely connected with intelligent machines that will shape, test, change, and extend us,” writes the author in the book’s “Introduction.” He draws a significant conclusion: “Together we can create a better version of collective intelligence – a world where, united with machines, we become smarter, more attentive, better prepared to thrive and survive.”
Geoff Mulgan was CEO of the UK innovation foundation Nesta from 2011 to 2019, director of the government’s Strategy and Performance and Innovation units from 1997 to 2004, and policy director at the Prime Minister’s office.
