The Lithuanian, who participated in the third of six heats, swam the distance in 25.98 seconds and took 9th place among 10 swimmers.
In the overall ranking among 51 athletes who started, B. Mileišytė took 39th place and did not advance to the semifinals. The Lithuanian was 0.9 seconds short of a ticket to the semifinals taking place in the evening, and the best time in the heats was demonstrated by Dutch swimmer Milou van Wijk (24.13 seconds).
The best career achievement of B. Mileišytė in this event is 25.41 seconds.
Aleksas Savickas and Andrius Šidlauskas participated in the 50-meter breaststroke heats.
Both Lithuanians competed in the fifth heat of the qualifiers: A. Šidlauskas completed the distance in 27.26 seconds and took fifth place, while A. Savickas finished immediately after his compatriot, swimming in 27.29 seconds.
In the overall ranking, the Lithuanians took 16th and 17th places and became the last to secure tickets to the semifinals. A. Savickas was saved by the championship’s one-swimmer-per-country quota – there were three Italians in the top 16, but only two can advance to the semifinals.
This morning, the Lithuanian team was also supposed to start in the 4×100 meter freestyle medley relay, but it was decided not to participate in the heats and to focus on the 4×200 meter distance heats, which will take place on Saturday morning.

Friday schedule for Lithuanians

At 10:53, two Lithuanians will start simultaneously. 23-year-old Aleksas Savickas and six years older Andrius Šidlauskas will participate in the 50-meter breaststroke heats. Both Lithuanians will swim in the fifth heat of the qualifiers.

At 11:11, 17-year-old Emilija Pociūtė is scheduled to start – she will participate in the 100-meter backstroke heats.
At 11:47, four Lithuanians were supposed to compete – two girls and two boys. They were to compete in the first heat of the 4×100 meter freestyle medley relay heats, but ultimately decided not to start.
The morning session for Lithuanians will end with 21-year-old Džiugas Miškinis. He will participate at 12:18 in the long 1500 meter freestyle distance and will try to overcome the heats barrier.
After the Lithuanian performances, their hot comments from the Paris pool will be provided by 15min sports editor Kęstas Rimkus.
At least two more Lithuanians will compete in the Friday evening session.
At 19:36, Tomas Navikonis will compete in the 200 m freestyle final, which will be his second final in these competitions.
Immediately after, at 19:43, Kotryna Teterevkova will jump into the pool – she will compete in the 200 m breaststroke final.
