British transport police on the social network “X” reported that they arrived at the scene together with paramedics and firefighters shortly after an incident was reported a little before 4 p.m. local time (6 p.m. Lithuanian time).
The video from the scene of the incident in East Sussex shows at least three carriages derailed and overturned, as well as paramedics at the scene.
Broadcasters “Sky News” and BBC, citing government sources, reported that in this incident, it is believed “no one died, and serious injuries were avoided.”

Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander wrote on the social network “X” that the accident involved a “Southern Rail” train operating on the route between districts south of London and the capital.
Train accidents, especially fatal ones, are relatively rare in the United Kingdom.
In June, when two trains collided north of London, the driver of one train died, and dozens of people were injured.
