At that time, the contract with Žalgiris for the 15-year-old, who turned 16 a few days later, was accompanied by the joy of the entire Jasikevičius family.
Danielius was not a stranger to the Žalgiris youth system even before that. He has participated in the Kaunas team’s reserve training sessions over the past few years and became a full member of the third Žalgiris team last autumn.
“It is very noticeable that he grew up in a basketball environment,” said 15min Tautvydas Šležas, the assistant head coach of the Žalgiris reserve team, who spent a lot of time with young Jasikevičius not only last season but also earlier when working with him individually during summers.

D. Jasikevičius has been part of the third Žalgiris team, which competes in the Regional Basketball League (RKL), since the beginning of the season.
In a team composed of players aged 16-20, Danielius was among the youngest, so his role has so far been only episodic – he played 16 games, averaging 2.6 points and 1.8 assists in 9.3 minutes per game.
However, in training and matches against peers, D. Jasikevičius has already distinguished himself as an exceptional talent.
