Doug Liman, who is behind “Mr & Mrs Smith” and “The Bourne Identity,” is directing a film being shot in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, about an elite Ukrainian diver team carrying out a secret mission to blow up gas pipelines.
This sabotage is one of the biggest secrets of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Although no country or group has claimed responsibility for the explosions that destroyed the gas pipelines, German prosecutors officially accused Ukrainian citizen and military member Serhiy K. in June of carrying out this sabotage on behalf of Ukrainian intelligence.
The underwater explosions on September 26, 2022, damaged pipelines laid on the Baltic Sea floor to supply Russian natural gas to Germany. This damage further increased tensions over the war in Ukraine, as European countries sought to disconnect from Russian energy sources after the Kremlin’s army invaded Ukraine.
