“We must be prepared to repel threats. We urgently need new financial contributions to the mentioned list initiative. Ukraine needs more air defense and missile defense capabilities. We need missiles. (…) This is vital to maintain momentum on the battlefield and provide Ukraine with the capabilities needed to bring closer a just and lasting peace,” he added.
The Ukrainian politician also emphasized the necessity to increase sanctions against Russia.
“We appreciate the consistent support for sanctions policy against Russia and are grateful for the adoption of sanctions packages that have caused significant damage to the aggressor state’s economy. It remains very important to continue strengthening sanctions in sectors of special economic importance to Russia,” O. Kornijenko said.
Moreover, he stressed that every Russian strike only strengthens Ukraine’s determination and unity.
“Ukrainian society remains unshaken and continues to function with extraordinary resilience, dignity, and determination. Most importantly, even after this constant missile rain, Ukraine’s democratic institutions continue to operate effectively,” said the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to O. Kornijenko, Ukraine expects “strong political signals and tangible results” at the upcoming Alliance summit in Ankara.
