Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius stated this week that he does not plan to initiate legislative changes regarding vacations for Members of the Seimas and the president.
“If the legislators decide that it is necessary to regulate (vacations – BNS), they will take such an initiative,” he told journalists.

The President’s law does not provide for vacations for the head of state, and the Seimas statute does not legalize vacations for parliamentarians. Meanwhile, the Government law stipulates that members of the Cabinet of Ministers are entitled to a minimum of 20 working days of annual leave.
The vacation issue is intended to be discussed
Violeta Turauskaitė, Deputy Chair of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP) faction in the Seimas and member of the State Governance and Municipalities Committee, told BNS this week that she had not had a discussion with faction colleagues about regulating vacations for Members of the Seimas and the president.
