Asta started her teaching career at the age of sixteen. Later, she studied music pedagogy, worked at the Šiauliai music school and university, and eventually defended her doctoral dissertation in social sciences.

During her studies, she became interested in humanistic pedagogy, the relationship between teacher and student, and the meaning of education. These topics accompanied Asta through her bachelor’s and master’s studies and later became the basis of her doctoral studies.
