Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in its statement the “repeated attacks on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz,” but did not mention Iran.

The ministry added that “ongoing negotiations on the shipping arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz are taking place in a positive and constructive atmosphere,” and urged restraint from any actions that could harm the progress of this process.
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that on Saturday a projectile hit a ship in the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Oman, causing a fire that was extinguished, and no casualties were reported.
“A reliable source reported that an unknown projectile hit the ship, causing a fire that was extinguished. No environmental impact has been reported. The ship and crew are reported to be safe,” the agency said in a statement.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) earlier on Saturday reported that Iran targeted a tanker belonging to the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) while it was sailing through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in its statement the “hostile Iranian attack, during which a missile targeted an ADNOC tanker while it was sailing through the Strait of Hormuz.”
No casualties were reported, the ministry said.
It is not yet known whether the UKMTO and UAE reports are related to the same ship.
ADNOC issued a statement on Friday saying that since the start of the war, 15 of the company’s ships have been attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, “including three ships just this week.”
