At least 17 people were killed and several dozen injured in the Russian missile and drone attack on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and its surroundings during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.

The ministry strongly condemns this attack carried out by Russia, during which, among other things, the food warehouse of the Lithuanian capital company “Novus” was destroyed, and emphasizes that attacks against civilians and civilian objects during international armed conflicts are prohibited by the Geneva Conventions, the serious violations of which are considered war crimes,” the statement reads.
The note also points out that Ukrainian civilians suffer especially in frontline areas, where so-called “drone safari” cases against local residents are constantly recorded. One such incident was recorded in Kherson, where a drone injured a vegetable vendor.
In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds that international law does not provide for a statute of limitations for responsibility for war and other international crimes.

In recent months, Russia has significantly intensified attacks on the Ukrainian capital, launching salvos of hard-to-intercept ballistic missiles, while Kyiv warns that it is severely lacking air defense systems.
Russian attacks in Ukraine on the night to Thursday claimed the lives of at least six civilians, and 22 people were injured.
The Kremlin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and has been continuously attacking its neighboring country since then.
