According to Lina Baranauskienė, head of the Vilnius County Service Department, child rights defenders’ psychologists spoke with all the children in the family and listened to their opinions.

“At 10 a.m. we communicated with the youngest children in the family, and at 1 p.m. with the older ones,” L. Baranauskienė said in a comment to BNS.
She also stated that the service has already received information from healthcare and other institutions and is currently assessing the situation. Final decisions are planned to be made next week.
BNS previously reported that child rights specialists were unable to meet with the children on Tuesday and Wednesday because the parents did not allow service representatives into the home.

The child rights service last week decided to take seven children from this family, including a two-month-old baby who died at Kaunas clinics. Later, the service explained that at the time of the decision, they had not yet been informed about the baby’s death.
The family’s lawyer, Dalia Jasevičienė, has stated that child rights defenders were contacted by the hospital social worker suspecting possible inappropriate behavior by the mother. The family has been known to child rights specialists since 2018.

Currently, the children have not been taken from the family.
