A 61-year-old resident of Kretinga district was detained at his home in Nasrėnai village late Thursday evening. At about 9:30 p.m., the police received a report that a man had shot a stork in this village.

Upon arrival at the scene, the information was confirmed – a dead bird was found. At about 10 p.m., the aforementioned man suspected of this crime was detained.
According to “Vakarų ekspresas,” he shot the Lithuanian national bird near his home.
At the time, 31-year-old customs officer Marius D. shot 15 storks and injured another one.

The suspect was intoxicated – a moderate level of alcohol (1.53‰) was detected. He was detained and placed in custody.
