“Our mutual friend Arūnas Siaurusevičius says that I am the only one from the group who is happily divorced. But seriously, it just happened in life that I had to get divorced. I never talked about divorce in my life and everyone thought that some serious drama had happened. In fact, after coming from a professional athlete career to a normal life, I felt that it was some kind of space for me. I couldn’t find my place.

I felt unhappy, and if you are unhappy, how can you make another person happy? And so it happened that we divorced,” says R.Vyšniauskas in the podcast “Eye to Eye with Arūnas Valinskas.”

Still, Ramūnas says that even now he maintains a friendly relationship with his ex-wife.

“Wonderful relationships with her new husband and with her. I am glad that my children have such a wonderful mother. When choosing a wife, it was important to me that she would be a good mother to the children,” he says.

The man does not hide that today he is not committed to anyone.

“I’ll put it this way: my mission in this world is to bring joy to women. If I were with one, imagine how many would be unhappy? I sacrifice myself to share at least some joy <…> Of course, I would like those relationships, but I understand that there will be many unhappy ones. And now I try to help Lithuania,” the man says in “Eye to Eye with Arūnas Valinskas.”

Strength not in the gym

Earlier, a widely circulated photo appeared on the internet showing R.Vyšniauskas lifting President Valdas Adamkus.

“I lifted Valdas Adamkus in Sydney, I lifted him in Athens. Once I even lifted him at his home. Somehow I was Adamkus’s confidant during his election campaigns. Being close to such a politician is something special to me,” he said.

When asked if he ever had to use force outside of sports competitions or the gym, the man was open.

“Once during the Sea Festival. I was out of shape, had drunk beer. I saw a Volkswagen Golf parked, blocking a car, and I needed to get out somehow. I grabbed the hook and dragged it between two trees. I don’t know how that person got out,” he laughs. “Of course, sometimes people ask me to help move a wardrobe or something. We climb back and forth, sitting down, sweat just pouring. And a 60-year-old drunk with a cigar in his teeth seems to climb tirelessly. <…> For a weightlifter, even a very accomplished one, other sports activities are difficult.”

The man reveals that as a weightlifter, he was forbidden to try other sports.

“You never know which muscle or body part you will need next time. It was forbidden to play basketball, football,” he admits.

Earlier in the conversation, having promoted himself as a man wanting to “bring joy” to as many women as possible, Ramūnas Vyšniauskas dedicated beautiful words to them and recited Henrikas Radauskas’s poem “The First Night” as a “farewell.”
