These vehicles were purchased as part of the projects “Acquisition of patrol vehicles” and “Acquisition of additional STS vehicles”.

The new vehicles will significantly strengthen VSAT’s capabilities in protecting the external border of the European Union. The updated vehicle fleet will allow officers to respond more quickly to violations detected by surveillance systems, more effectively carry out border control, prevent illegal migration, and ensure an even higher level of public safety at the Lithuanian border.
The SUVs are equipped with special equipment: light and sound signals, telemetry system, additional heating equipment, voltage converter, forced stop device, magnetic search spotlights.
Nineteen SUVs were purchased by VSAT from the company UAB “AF Motors”, which won the public procurement. The total value of the purchase contract is 1,239,659 euros, and the price of one SUV with special equipment is 65,245 euros.

The official vehicle handover ceremony was attended by VSAT Deputy Commander Colonel Saulius Nekraševičius and UAB “AF Motors” project manager Andrius Čiuprinskas.
The new border guard equipment was solemnly blessed by VSAT chaplain Simas Maksvytis.
All 19 patrol SUVs will be handed over to the Vilnius, Varėna, Pagėgiai, and Coastal Border Guard Units, where they will contribute daily to the protection of the state border and ensuring the safety of the people of Lithuania.
