As tvn24.pl writes, a heat wave has been flooding Poland since the beginning of the week. On Tuesday, temperatures exceeded 35 degrees in many regions, with the hottest being Klodzko – 37.5 degrees.

According to the latest data, August 5th is expected to be even hotter. According to the American GFS models, on Wednesday thermometers in the Lublin Voivodeship may show up to 41 degrees. This would be a heat record for Poland – surpassing the still very recent highest recorded temperature on June 28 in Slubice, when it was 40.5 degrees.
40 degrees may also be reached in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship – these two voivodeships in the southeastern edge of Poland will be the hottest.
According to the American GFS models, on Wednesday thermometers in the Lublin Voivodeship may show up to 41 degrees.
However, it is not going to be cold anywhere else either.
IMWG has issued the highest third-level – red – warnings for as many as thirteen voivodeships.
So there is a particular danger of heat for the Lublin, Subcarpathian, Lesser Poland (except the Tatra region), Holy Cross, Lodz, Silesian, Opole voivodeships, as well as parts of Podlaskie, Mazovian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Greater Poland, Lower Silesian, Lubusz voivodeship regions.
The warnings are valid for both Wednesday and Thursday until 8 p.m. Everywhere the maximum daytime temperature will reach 33-38 degrees, and at night it will only cool down to 18-23 degrees.

However, the European ECMWF models show somewhat lower temperatures – according to them, the maximum temperature on Wednesday will reach 38 degrees, with Subcarpathia and Upper Silesia expected to heat up to that level. And on Thursday, it is said there will be a few degrees above 30.
The rest of Poland is colored orange (second-level warning) or yellow (first-level). Only the northernmost part with Suwalki and parts of the Baltic Sea coast will be able to breathe easier, as such high temperatures are not expected there.
Meteorologists forecast that from Friday the heat will subside, cooler air masses will rush in, but in the southeast it may still be over 30 degrees.
As tvn24.pl writes, red warnings mean that dangerous meteorological phenomena are forecasted, which can cause very large losses or damage equivalent to disasters, as well as pose a threat to life. Under such weather conditions, normal activities may be completely disrupted, so people should be prepared for disruptions in daily life.
It is recommended to take the greatest precautions, to frequently follow announcements and monitor weather changes. Also – follow all rescue service instructions in case of danger, and adjust your plans according to prevailing weather conditions.
In Lithuania, Wednesday is also expected to be hot – a yellow warning applies to some regions, with temperatures rising above 30 degrees.
