T. Blanche’s statement appeared after the Senate Judiciary Committee postponed the vote on his confirmation. This happened due to ongoing disagreements with Republican Senators John Cornyn of Texas and Thom Tillis of North Carolina.

J. Cornyn and T. Tillis stated that they would not support T. Blanche’s nomination until the Donald Trump administration cancels plans to establish a controversial $1.8 billion “gun control” fund aimed at individuals claiming to be victims of politically motivated persecution.
“My team and I have been meeting with committee members and senators over the past few weeks and have answered all the questions,” T. Blanche wrote on the social network X.
“We have had honest discussions, so we are announcing this order and update regarding the May IRS agreement,” he added.

The signed order attached to T. Blanche’s post states: “The Attorney General’s May 18, 2026 order establishing the Gun Control Fund (…) is revoked and has no force or effect.”
“This order, without any doubt, confirms that there is no fund,” the document says.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to vote on T. Blanche’s nomination on Tuesday.
