22-year-old G. Gineitis still has a contract with Torino valid for another three years, so the Italians want to get a solid sum of money for the player from Mažeikiai.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schiros, Torino hopes to pocket about 14-15 million euros for G. Gineitis.
He said that Celtic will soon submit a formal offer to Torino for the Lithuanian.
If the deal amount is what Torino is asking for, G. Gineitis is set to become the most expensive purchase in Celtic club history. Earlier this week, the Glasgow club broke this record by acquiring Dane Kasper Høgh from Bodø/Glimt for about 13 million euros.
However, according to earlier reports, the Italians may agree to a lower offer of about 10 million euros for G. Gineitis.

If this deal goes through, the Lithuanian national team midfielder will become the most expensive Lithuanian footballer sold, breaking the record previously held by Edgaras Česnauskis – who was sold in 2010 from Moskva to Moscow Dynamo for 4.2 million euros.
Earlier, G. Gineitis had also attracted interest from Germany – his play attracted Hoffenheim and Freiburg clubs.
