The “Barca” legend has held the position of general manager since 2021 and was responsible for the most important decisions in the Catalan organization’s basketball section.

After disappointing recent years, “Barca” decided to hand over the team assembly tasks to another person, and J.C. Navarro will now serve as basketball ambassador and mentor for young players.
It is announced that an agreement has been reached with the legendary Catalan, under which he will remain at the club at least until 2029.
46-year-old J.C. Navarro joined the “Barcelona” organization back in 1992, when he joined youth team training at the age of 12. In 1997, he debuted in the main “Barca” team, and after a few years became one of the team’s leaders.
With “Barcelona,” the sharpshooter won the EuroLeague twice (in 2003 and 2010), and was once named the most valuable player of the entire season and the Final Four.
He left Barcelona for only one season when he went to the NBA and played for the Memphis Grizzlies. In total, J.C. Navarro played 18 seasons with the “Barcelona” jersey and ended his career in 2018 as the club’s all-time leading scorer.
From 2019 to 2021, J.C. Navarro led the “Barca” youth teams, and in 2021 he was appointed general manager.
However, his leadership period was not successful. When the team was still coached by Šarūnas Jasikevičius, the Catalans reached the EuroLeague Final Four twice and won the Spanish championship in 2023, but after Šaras left Barcelona, “Barca” has not won a single title or reached the EuroLeague Final Four even once in recent years.
